This two-bedroom two-bath house had undergone no renovation work decades. The kitchen and bathroom were original to the home. The owners had enclosed the front porch and added a laundry room to the back of the house. The layout of the home was a mod podge of small rooms that created a very boxed in feel. Our goal was to restore the home to the original craftsman style exterior while creating an open modern feel to the interior. The homeowners ask us to for a complete renovation but within the existing footprint. We were able to create all of this without adding any square feet to the footprint and giving a front porch back to the family. In order to create a three-bedroom two-bath open floor plan home several walls were removed, a vaulted ceiling was added, the kitchen and bathrooms were updated, a master suite was created, the original porch was uncovered and a mudroom was created. There were two major challenges that included creating a third bedroom and redesigning the master bedroom to include a larger bathroom and walk-in closet. We were able to accomplish this by turning a living area into a third bedroom and including a master closet in that space. The entrance to the third bedroom was reversed so that the door to the room was off the back hallway near the other bedrooms. The original closet was then used to expand the master bath.
